St Pancras Clinical Research Ltd. expands clinical research network to three UK sites
St Pancras Clinical Research Ltd. (SPCR) has opened a new clinic in Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, Sussex (for South-East England) to complement the geographic and demographic reach of its two current sites in the Barbican, City of London and Upton, Chester (for North Wales and the North-West of England).
SPCR is creating an inclusive clinical research network across the UK to offer those diagnosed with life-changing medical conditions better access to clinical research trials and new medicines.
“We are committed to ensuring research is an accessible option for those living without appropriate licensed treatments, or where current treatments are only partially effective. We are delighted to be able to open our new Eastbourne specialised research clinic this year, and we look forward to building relationships with the wider community to strengthen education about diseases and raise awareness about clinical research”. – Sandie James, Chief Executive Officer
The company manages complex clinical trials focused on chronic diseases with a significant unmet medical need, and it has a portfolio of Clinical Trials of an Investigational Medicinal Product (CTIMPs) (Phase 1b, II and III) across a range of therapeutic areas, including rare diseases.
SPCR specialises in trials for chronic pain and cognitive disorders resulting from inflammatory, neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Depression, Migraine as well as for patients with diabetes, dermatological conditions, renal diseases, and psychiatry, with a particular interest in psychedelics in neuro-psychiatric conditions.
SPCR’s own medical team consists of anaesthetists, neurologists, general practitioners, and psychiatrists, who all have research experience in these therapeutic areas. The team is supported by an internationally recognised group of senior physicians and scientists.
The new Eastbourne clinic will serve the vastly populated region of South-East England offering cutting edge research trials to those living with these diseases. As a dedicated research site, the clinic is fully equipped to deliver complex trials with six consulting rooms, lab processing facilities and a pharmacy room.
“St Pancras Clinical Research understand the demands of our global partners in the pharmaceutical sector as well as the needs of our patients, which means we can combine high science with a realistic and compassionate approach to patient recruitment and care, working across some of those areas in the UK where clinical trial opportunities for local communities are currently limited”. – Dr Stuart Ratcliffe, Chief Scientific Officer.
